Begin with the person using the software and the job they need to do. A feature earns its place by making that job easier.

The first release is a beginning. Prefer clear decisions and software that can be understood, maintained and changed as the work evolves.

Automation should give people more room to think and act. Make it clear what the software is doing and where a person needs to make the call.

Try things. Ask the awkward question. Take the details seriously, and enjoy the making. Useful software can have a little character too.
